Alfred Dunhill has a long history of producing the very finest in writing instruments, including fountain pens, ballpoints, rollerballs and pencils. As with all Dunhill products, our writing instruments are made to the very highest standards of quality and craftsmanship, which by nature become very personal items for our customers. Writing Instruments require very little maintenance from an official Service Centre. However, there are some simple things that you can do to care for your product.
Your dunhill writing instrument is covered by an international guarantee for a period of 24 months from the date of purchase against faults in materials and workmanship, irrespective of the country of purchase. Your dunhill writing instrument will be repaired free of charge, within this period, provided that the fault falls within the terms of this guarantee.
Damage and/or defects caused by fair wear and tear, accidents, use which is unreasonable or inconsistent with dunhill's instructions, dismantling or repair by persons other than authorised dunhill repair specialists, or the use of components or accessories other than those recommended by dunhill are not covered by this guarantee. Leads, erasers and ink refills, exhausted in the course of normal use, are also excluded.
This guarantee is only valid provided that the guarantee card is properly completed by a dunhill shop or authorised dealership from which your writing instrument is purchased and returned with your dunhill writing instrument.
Should your dunhill writing instrument require attention, please send or take it to a dunhill Service Centre or Store, enclosing the completed guarantee card. If sending your writing instrument by post we recommend that you pack it securely in a padded envelope and insure it prior to mailing. For fountain pens, also remove the cartridges or the converter.
Please note that your rights under the guarantee are subject to your compliance with dunhill's instructions as set out above. Please read the instructions carefully.
This guarantee is additional to your statutory rights.
When carrying a writing instrument, always try to keep it in a leather case or pouch. This will protect the lacquer, resin or plated finish. The plated finish, in particular, is sensitive to scratches. Once it is scratched, it can be very difficult if not impossible to remove these marks.
