As with a finely tuned engine, dunhill timepieces will benefit from a service every few years, rewarding you with continued precision timekeeping.

Quick Service Procedures

Diagnosis:

The watch is checked for water resistancy.
The technician removes the case-back and carefully examines the movement to assess if a clean and re-oil is required, or if there are signs of wear.
Several tests are carried out using specialised electronic equipment to assess the condition of the movement and how much battery power the movement is using.
If the watch fails the waterproof test then a maintenance service will be recommended. If the watch fails the movement tests then a complete service will be recommended.

Service Procedures:

If the watch passes all the above checks, the battery is replaced with a new one.
The case-back seal is exchanged before the case-back is placed back on the watch
Metal Bracelet Watches - The case and bracelet is cleaned with a soft cloth. A bracelet repair/replacement will be recommended if the technician assesses the bracelet to be unsafe.
Leather Strap Watches - The case is cleaned with a soft cloth. The leather strap is checked for wear. A new strap will be recommended if the technician assesses the strap to be unsafe.

Testing Procedures:

The watch is tested for timekeeping and water resistancy to original specifications.

Presentation:

The watch is placed on a cushion, inside a pouch ready for collection.

Maintenence Service Procedures

The case-back is removed.
The technician removes the case-back and carefully examines the movement to assess if a clean and re-oil is required, or if there are signs of wear.

The case is disassembled into its component parts, leaving the movement dial and hands complete.
All the case parts are cleaned in an ultrasonic tank, which cleans away even the smallest particles.
Metal Bracelet Watches - The bracelet is checked for signs of excessive wear, then cleaned in an ultrasonic tank. A bracelet repair/replacement will be recommended if the technician assesses the bracelet to be unsafe.
Leather Strap Watches - The case is cleaned with a soft cloth. The leather strap is checked for wear. A new strap will be recommended if the technician assesses the strap to be unsafe.
New seals are placed around the crystal, bezel and case-back and the crown is checked and exchanged where necessary.
