Services for lighters
Service Procedures
The lighter is checked to see if there is a leak.
The lighter is disassembled into its component parts.
The parts are checked for wear and replaced where necessary.
If a leak has been detected, this is repaired.
The cap and case is cleaned in an ultrasonic tank, which cleans even the smallest particles.
The cap and case are dried and the whole lighter is oiled and assembled to original specification.
Testing Procedures
The lighter is filled with dunhill gas* and weighed on a set of accurate scales (to 0.01grams)
The lighter is then stored for 48 hours, then re-weighed. Confirmation that the weights are the same means that no leak has been detected and the lighter is ready.
The flame height is adjusted to be the same height as the cap.
A new flint is fitted to the lighter and filled with gas**
The lighter is given a final clean using a soft polishing cloth.
The lighter is placed in the appropriate sized lighter presentation pouch with a lighter brush***
* dunhill gas is the cleanest on the market. Failure to use dunhill gas will effect the terms of the guarantee.
** Due to postal restrictions in certain markets, we may need to empty the tank of gas when returning lighters through the post.
*** All repairs should be returned to you with a lighter brush, which is a small soft bristled brush. This brush can be used to clean the burner valve area when it blackens with normal use. Using this brush will extend the period of time required between services.
