At the turn of the last Century, embracing motoring as the new method of transport, Alfred Dunhill converted his father´s saddlery business into a major emporium catering for virtually every requirement of the motorist. He even coined the term ‘Motorities’ to describe the automotive accessories that he sold. In 1903, he filed a patent for ‘horological instruments’, paving the way for the lauch of the first dunhill timepiece, the free-hanging Motorities dashboard clock, three years later. This inspirational timepiece for the pioneering motorist was the first step in more than a hundred years of inventive timekeeping.

The rugged Citytamer is both sophisticated and functional, making as much of a statement at a board meeting as at the dinner table.
A masterpiece of elegant engineering, the Citytamer has a horizontally-split, two-part case with top-loading screws. A central gasket is an integral part of the aesthetic of the watch and ensures it remains watertight.
A Swiss self-winding mechanical movement nestles within the cradle of the gently curving, rectangular body of the watch, the shape of which was inspired by the bonnet of a period sports car.
Each Citytamer has a limited edition number engraved between the lugs, and an image of the City-bulldog on the back. The guilloché dial is available in off-white or black, each with arrow hands and three o´clock date.
The steel Citytamer comes with a stainless steel bracelet and an interchangeable black alligator strap, plus tools and fitting instructions.
A striking mixed pink and gold case is also available.
