Services for Writing Instruments

Ballpoint, Converter (Rollerball or Ballpoint) and Pencil

Writing Instrument Service Procedures:

  • The writing instrument is disassembled into its component parts.
  • The parts are checked for wear and replaced where necessary.
  • The cap and case is cleaned in an ultrasonic tank, which cleans even the smallest particles.
  • The cap and case are dried and the whole writing instrument is oiled and assembled to original specifications.
  • A new refill is fitted to the pen, and new leads and erasers are added to the pencil.

Writing Instrument Testing Procedures:

  • The cap is tested to ensure it stays on the body securely while in the pocket.
  • The clip is checked to ensure the grip is sufficient and there is no distortion.
  • The mechanism is actioned many times to ensure the function is correct.
  • Ballpoint and Rollerball refills are checked for width and colour.
  • The writing instrument is given a final clean using a soft polishing cloth.
  • The writing instrument is placed in the presentation pouch.

Fountain Pen

Writing Instrument Service Procedures:

  • The writing instrument is disassembled into its component parts.
  • The parts are checked for wear and replaced where necessary.
  • The nib unit is disassembled, checked for wear and damage, then cleaned and reassembled.
  • The cap and case is cleaned in an ultrasonic tank, which cleans even the smallest particles.
  • The cap and case are dried and the whole pen is assembled to original specifications.

Writing Instrument Testing Procedures:

  • The cap is tested to ensure it stays on the body securely while in the pocket.
  • The clip is checked to ensure the grip is sufficient and there is no distortion.
  • A cartridge is fitted to the nib unit and the nib is tested for function, including ink width and smoothness of writing.
  • The cartridge is removed and the nib cleaned to remove the excess ink.
  • A new cartridge is included with the pen, but not fitted, to avoid ink drying in the nib, blocking the flow.
  • The writing instrument is placed in the presentation pouch.
