at Alfred DunhillAlfred Dunhill's Made-to-Measure service helps you personalise a suit, a jacket, a blazer, a shirt, or an overcoat, while retaining the elegant English silhouette dunhill tailoring is known for. Available in over 50 locations around the world, it is a masterful weaving together of your particular needs, the world’s finest cloths and the creativity and workmanship honed since Alfred Dunhill embarked on the first of many made-to-measure journeys in 1904.
The Made-to-Measure experience begins with a private consultation with the Tailor, who will take your measurements, discuss your lifestyle requirements and guide you with expert advice through the cut, style and cloth choices, all hand-selected from the finest British and Italian mills.
Next, you will be asked to return to the store for a fitting. At this stage, your Tailor will assess the fit of the garments that have been made up to your specifications, fine tune them through further alterations and, where necessary, ask you to come back for a final fitting.
The end result is a completely unique item crafted for you to match your own exacting standards.
If you would like to make an appointment for a free consultation, choose ”Custom Tailoring” when prompted to select service type to find your nearest Made-to-Measure Specialist.
The Australian Merino sheep were specially selected for the fine quality of their fleece; the yarns were spun and dyed to the highest standards by a carefully selected spinner; the cloth was woven in Huddersfield, England by a long-standing partner and finished to our specific requirements. This spring, Alfred Dunhill have worked with the best in the trade to develop 3 exclusive cloths, the production of which we have controlled from farm to the finished fabric: an elegant Super 180’s suiting, a refined ‘faille’ fabric for evening wear and a textured blazer cloth that is both elegant and luxurious.
All our tailored garments - including suits - are produced using a fully-canvassed construction, allowing us to create the classic English silhouette - a slightly full chest, a suppressed waist and subtly flared hips providing the flattering hour-glass jacket so revered throughout the world.
On offer are over 300 tailoring cloths, including luxurious Made in England Super 200’s worsteds, rare Escorial wool suitings and pure cashmere jacketings. Also popular are our high-performance cloths such as Camdeboo mohair for blazers or suits, and 100% wool cloths which are water-resistant, a property achieved using cutting-edge nano-technology.
For overcoats, choose from a luxuriousl selection of cashmeres and fine wools in full or ¾ length styles, which can be further customised via a choice of pocket options and velvet collars.
There is something very special about owning a made-to-measure shirt: a sense of indulgence derived from knowing that it has been made for you alone.
Only the finest methods of making are used at Alfred Dunhill: collars are crafted in the time-honoured way so that they look better for longer; split yokes allow shoulders to be cut to fit your shape.
More than 400 fabrics are available, and with a choice of 14 collars, 7 cuff and various initial embroidery options, the perfect shirt is only an appointment away.
