Alfred

The Alfred is a briefcase drawn from the rich motoring heritage of dunhill, built for a life in motion. Its story begins with Alfred Dunhill’s earliest world of Motorities: leather craft and objects designed for the car and its driver. From early automotive luggage to the British document case, the Alfred carries forward a philosophy established in 1893:

“It must be useful. It must work dependably. It must be beautiful. It must last. It must be the best of its kind.” Alfred Dunhill

The handle recalls archival attachés and doctor’s bags, while the sculpted body draws on the curved geometry of early motorcar trunks. The lock references the engineered form of the Unique lighter introduced in 1926. Finished in Vintage Palladium, the hardware reflects more than a century of dunhill metal craftsmanship, while saddlery stitching and double-curved side gussets bring ease to the silhouette.

The Alfred is cut from Patina Calf, a smooth natural leather with a supple touch and a rich colour depth. A hand-applied tint introduces a subtle two-tone patina effect. Hand-finished in Italy, no two pieces are alike. Structured yet softened by use, the Alfred is made to acquire character over time.

The Alfred is available in three sizes – 40, 30 and 25 – and offered in chocolate, whiskey and black.
