ARCHIVE GOLDFISH CAPSULE
Introducing the new Archive Goldfish capsule. Released to celebrate the Lunar New Year, this special collection is influenced by intricate goldfish designs found on humidors, cigarette cases and pen stands from the dunhill archive. The artwork of which references Japanese art, in particular the historic relationship between dunhill and Namiki.
The fish, in ancient Chinese culture, symbolises happiness, abundance and good fortune for the New Year. To gift yourself brings great positivity, but to gift a loved one represents something more, the sending of harmony and prosperity for the year to come.
People believed the fish to be a close relative of sea dragons and other mythical beasts; positioning them as hugely positive symbolic creatures, something that continues today. A fitting sentiment for our new capsule and for the impending Lunar New Year celebrations.
Re-interpreting the iconic Duke runner, a special digital printing technique is used to elevate the Archive Goldfish motif, creating a luxurious sense of depth and texture.
It also showcases a range of signature dunhill leather shapes including the new belt bag, sling bag and phone holder; alongside a tote, zip pouch and small leather goods.
The reimagined goldfish design has been digitally applied to a capsule collection that features a leather bomber, short parka, sweatshirt and t-shirt.
